Send Records
CAPS Form Export Instructions

Once you have your records downloaded to a file, you can choose to send them via one of the methods below. Please contact Mackin if you need assistance at 800-245-9540.

By Online File Transfer:
Click here for a step-by-step instructions to upload your MARC Records directly to Mackin.

By Email:
Just go to your email program and create an email message to: caps@mackin.com. Once you have created your message, click on the attachments button and attach the downloaded MARC file that you just created. It may take a few minutes depending on the size of your file. Your district may have some kind of limitation on the size of file you can send. If the file is too big, you might want to try using WinZip for Windows or Stuff-It for Macintosh to compress it.

By FTP:
After saving your records to a file, place the file on your desktop. Using Internet Explorer, type in the address field: ftp://ftp.mackin.com. You will be asked for a username and password.
Type in: Username: publicftp Password: publicftp

Once you have gained access to the server, just find your file and drag it into the Mackin browser window to complete the upload. If you have difficulty with one browser, try a different browser. Once the file is uploaded, send an email to: caps@mackin.com indicating the upload is complete and fax the analysis profile to 800-369-5490 or 952-894-8806.

Macintosh users may want to use the Fetch FTP tool. To download Fetch go to this web site: http://fetchsoftworks.com. Once downloaded, click on the Fetch 4.03 folder (or latest version) and double click on the dog. At New Connection under host, type ftp.mackin.com. The username and password are same as above.

By Mail:
Copy your downloaded record file to a zip disk (Mac or Windows), floppy disks (they won’t all fit on one floppy so you will need several) or burned onto a CD-Rom. We cannot accept tapes, Superdisks or Jaz cartridges.

Send your records along with the collection analysis profile to:
